Features

The Root Hierarchy is about Endeavour-as-a-whole i.e. the 7 Levels of Endeavour form a framework that contains all other entities derived from the Will. While the Root Hierarchy elaborates a pure Will Domain, the Hierarchy of Endeavour contains 7 distinct psychosocial domains through which the Will, and our humanity, also manifests.

This means that:

  • Everything that is «willed» is part of some personal endeavour.
  • No endeavour can exist without someone's will behind it.

Position in THEE: Root Hierarchy

Formula: RH

Formal Name: Hierarchy of Personal Endeavour:  the concrete manifestation of volition or effort.

Alternate Name: Levels of Will.  (Because Will = Root, this name automatically fits the Root Hierarchy.)

Misleading Name: Attempt—viewed as an aspect of RL7: Willingness.

Function:  The ceaseless effort of every person to live as a human being.

Properties: Endeavour is the source of the myriad manifestations of willed phenomena in the psychosocial world. Because of its differentiation into Levels/Domains, endeavour is experienced as the concrete manifestation of will.

Taxonomic Relationships:  Looked at from above, endeavour is the manifest result of emanation from will. Looked at from below, endeavour is the manifest result of condensing all human elements in the Taxonomy.

Sharpening the Focus

There is an extraordinary complexity of structure hidden within the Root Levels. Each Level has the quality of a complex domain. In exploring the domain, the first step is to understand each Root Level via its emanation as a Primary Hierarchy. This makes it easier to work with the Root Levels themselves as unitary entities. You are less likely to get lost or confused by their more differentiated aspects, which belong deep within the Taxonomy.

Categories for the Entity-Levels

It is rather obvious that the entity-levels within endeavour are very different. Nevertheless we need to formulate the most relevant differences as precisely as we can. Precision will allow us to discover and develop Root-derived frameworks with a degree of confidence.

Here are examples of categories which should permit useful and unequivocal discrimination:

  • The external/public manifestation.
  • Benefit sought.
  • Reasons for engagement with the entity/level.
  • Reasons for refusal to activate the entity/level.
